The Bagnell Technique
New Page 1
After many years of research and study, Dr. Karen Gardner
Bagnell and Dr. Larry Bagnell are honored to present the Bagnell Technique for
Breech Presentation to the Chiropractic profession. Both doctors have had the
honor and privilege to work with several hundred expectant mothers and their
midwives, doulas, childbirth educators and obstetricians. They are proud to have
an extremely high success rate while using their technique. Often within 48
hours of the first adjustment to the mother's spine and pelvis, the baby will
turn on it's own into a vertex position.

The Bagnell Technique for Breech Presentation was designed
with the breech baby in mind, but has also been used very effectively for
transverse, oblique and posterior presentations as well. It is a chiropractic
technique that focuses on the alignment of the spine and pelvis of the mother to
be. It is NOT in any way a medical procedure such as an external version.
Dr. Karen Gardner
Bagnell is currently interviewing doctors who would like to become certified in
the Bagnell Technique as well as trained in the Bagnell System for Pre-Natal

Most recently Dr. Larry Bagnell has uncovered a very specific
order of adjusting that has catapulted their success rate even higher. When
this precise order or adjusting is followed, the results are unbelievable.
Both doctors use their technique everyday in their office, the Bagnell
Chiropractic Life Centre. Their technique focuses on subluxation removal,
alignment of the pelvis and releasing ligamentous spasms. However, it is unlike
the other techniques that are currently being taught. This technique has a
different primary focus and protocol than the other techniques. They are proud
to offer this alternative to their profession.
Hi Karen,
I Just received your Pre-Natal
Chiropractice Care book yesterday. I have only read the first 20 pages, but
Mamamiya - excellent presentation.
So simple, so straight forward. Way To Go!!! It just make things much
easier to understand and explain. On Aug 8 - I am invited to be a guest
speaker at the formation of the Israel Doulas Association.

Dr. Karen Gardner Bagnell started using Websters Technique when she was
still a student at Life more than 17 years ago, but didn't get the results she
was hoping for. It was then that she realized she needed to know how and why a
baby mal-presents and when Dr. Larry Webster couldn't supply her with the
information she requested, the quest for a new technique began. She and
Dr. Larry Bagnell even approached a prominent pediatric association to try and
share their discoveries but instead of being embraced and welcomed, they were
given an emphatic "no way, get lost". So they were forced to share their
important advancements to their professions on their own.
The only technique that vaguely resembles The Bagnell Technique is in fact
Websters. This resemblance lies in the fact that both techniques address the
breech baby and that neither claims to turn babies, but that is where the
similarities end. While Websters technique places emphasis on the round
ligament, The Bagnell Technique has placed emphasis on the alignment of the
pubes since 1994. In Websters technique, sacral posteriority is key, however,
The Bagnell Technique has uncovered that sacral rotation plays a much more
significant role than posteriority alone. The Bagnell Technique also
incorporates the importance of C2, coccyx and the sacrotuberous ligaments, where
as there is no mention of them at all in Websters technique.
